■ Immigration Procedures for Entry

When you apply for a “College Student Visa” at the Japanese Embassy in your country, your visa will be issued faster if you submit a “Certificate of Eligibility” along with other application documents. The University of Fukui or your proxy in Japan, such as a financial supporter or family member, must apply for the Certificate of Eligibility. The University of Fukui prepares the application for Regular Students and exchange students. Students who enroll as Non-regular Students such as Credit Students or Research Students need to ask their financial supporters or family members in Japan to apply for the certificate.

Necessary documents and items are as follows.

  • Certificate of Eligibility application form
    Sample
  • One photograph (H4cm x W3cm) of the applicant

The photos should have a plain background and be taken within the last six months. Please write applicant’s name on the back of each photo.

  • One self-addressed stamped envelope

Attach registration stamp to the envelope.

  • One copy of Letter of Acceptance from the University of Fukui

  • Document that shows the financial ability of the applicant or supporter, such as a copy of your most recent bank statement

  • Document that certifies the relationship between the applicant and supporter, demonstrating why the supporter provides financial help to the applicant.

The International Student Section (or your proxy) will send the Certificate of Eligibility to you once we receive the certificate. Please remember to include your Certificate of Eligibility in your application for a “College Student Visa” at the Japanese embassy in your country.
