@ Regular Students−Undergraduate and Graduate School Programs−
The University of Fukui has three undergraduate schools (Faculty of Education and Regional Studies, Faculty of Medical Science, and Faculty of Engineering) and three graduate schools (Graduate School of Education, Graduate School of Medical Science, and Graduate School of Engineering). The Graduate School of Education offers master’s courses, whereas the Graduate School of Medical Science and Graduate School of Engineering offer master’s and doctoral courses. A Regular Student
−Global Engineering Program for International Student (GEPIS) and
Global Network Engineering Program for International Students (GNEPIS)−
There are Global Engineering Program for International Student (GEPIS) and Global Network Engineering Program for International Students (GNEPIS) in the Graduate School of Engineering. GEPIS is a master’s program and GNEPIS is a doctoral program. These programs were established in order to promote the enrollment of international students at the University of Fukui. B Non-regular Students−Credit Student and Research Student Programs
Credit Students may take courses and earn up to 14 credits per semester. To enroll as a Credit Student, you must have a Japanese language proficiency which is equal to or higher than a Level 2 on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, or a score of 200 or more on the “Japanese as a Foreign Language” test included in the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU).
Research Students conduct their research at the University under instruction from faculty members of the University of Fukui. Many international students come to the University as a Research Student first, and prepare for the entrance examination required for enrollment in one of the graduate schools.
Enrollment time for Credit and Research Students is in April and October. If you would like to apply for one of these programs from abroad, application periods are as follows.
Application period for April Enrollment September 1st to September 30th of the previous year
Application period for October Enrollment March 1st to March 31st of the current year
Please submit the application forms to the International Student Section during this period through your proxy in Japan. Regarding Research Students, applicants need to choose a research theme and contact appropriate academic supervisor at the University of Fukui before submitting application. C Exchange Student Programs
−The University of Fukui Short-term Student Exchange Promotion Program -
The University of Fukui has academic exchange agreements with more than 50 universities and institutions all over the world.(Academic exchange agreements)
Through the University of Fukui Short-term Student Exchange Promotion Program, exchange students from those universities and institutions attend the University of Fukui for six months or one year. There are two kinds of programs;
A. The University of Fukui Student Exchange Program (UFSEP), and
B. The University of Fukui Exchange Student Program (UFESP).
